Bacardi
Founded in 1862 in Santiago de Cuba – and family-owned for seven generations – Bacardi is the largest privately held spirits company in the world. Originally known for its eponymous Bacardi white rum, it now has a portfolio of more than 200 brands and labels.
In recognition of Shula’s longstanding relationship with Bacardi rum, we present three craft cocktails for a limited time.
The Blackberry Margarita – Patron tequila, fresh blackberry, fresh sour mix, agave nectar.
Key west Daiquiri – Havana Club Rum, Cherry Heering Liqueur, fresh lime juice, simple syrup.
Spectacular Martini – Grey Goose Vodka, St. Germain, Q Spectacular Grapefruit.
The Wagner Family
Jenny and Charlie Wagner are fifth generation winemakers and the children of Chuck Wagner, co-founder and owner of Caymus Vineyards. Jenny and Charlie direct their own wine labels under the Wagner Family of Wine. Charlie is Director of Winemaking for Conundrum and makes Mer Soleil Chardonnay. Jenny focuses on Emmolo, which was launched by her mother over 20 years ago.
Shula’s is proud to feature two Wagner family favorites: Conundrum Red Blend and Emmolo Sauvignon Blanc
2015 Conundrum Red Blend: A plush and velvety red blend with alluring aromas of berry pie, vanilla, sweet tobacco and brown spice. It is plush and velvety upon entry, with flavors of German chocolate and dark plums. The texture is soft and granular like fine cocoa powder. Round wood tannins add structure as well as smoothness. Both the flavors and texture of this wine develop on the palate, leading into a long sensual finish that is opulent but not sweet – balanced, rich and refined.
2016 Emmolo Sauvignon Blanc: Scents of melon and lavender with soft notes of wet stone that call to mind a late summer rain. Entry on the palate is light and then builds, with flavors that are just no the edge of ripeness, from peaches to bright citrus. A flinty character lingers throughout, and the finish trails off with a balance of fruit and acidity, leaving a crisp and refreshing final impression.
