Shula’s Naples Salutes Our Veterans! In Eats, Media Relations
This Veterans Day, Shula’s is once again showing their gratitude for our men and women in the armed forces by offering them a complimentary lunch entrée from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. on Friday, November 11th, 2016.
This tradition of businesses and communities saying, “Thank you,” to our vets goes back over 75 years to the one-year anniversary of the end of World War I, then known as Armistice Day. So named because in the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month of 1918 an armistice, or temporary cessation of hostilities, was signed between the Allied nations and Germany. Several years later, in the wake of World War II and the Korean War, November 11 became Veterans Day, honoring American veterans of all wars. Since then it has been customary for companies, restaurants, and shops to offer our vets something in return for their service to our country — and Shula’s is no exception.
To take advantage of the free lunch entrée offer mentioned above, vets need only to make a confirmed reservation and bring a valid military ID, Veterans ID card, or DD-214. A purchase of a lunch entrée of equal or lesser value is required, so bring a friend!
